Don't waste your money. Was happy to invest in hometown produced product, but was sadly disappointed when the machine caused ruination of some clothes because after using bleach in one load ....the next load not was stained by bleach Also, having owned the machine for less than 2 years, we saw that the 'stainless steel' tub was rusting. GE would not replace the tub. Their warranty did not cover rust. Unbelievable! The fact that it had a stainless steel tub was one of the reasons we bought it.

Bought this and just a literal few days after it hit one year it stopped working. GE would not help even though it was as close as it was so, spent 600 some odd dollars to use it for a year. Since purchasing this product, I™™ve had nothing but issues with it. Do not try to wash more than four bath towels. Do not try to make a large load. Do not do not wash a comforter in there. This washing machine is not made for any of that even though it™™s a large we™™ve had a repairman at our house many times - they™™ve replaced a sensor. They keep replacing the springs and I still have issues. The washing machine works fine for a few months after they leave and then it™™s not working anymore. The washing machine will fill, and then it will agitate and the water is gone and all that is left in the basket is my clothes and the agitator running with no water. I cannot tell you all the money I™™m wasting and the time I™™m wasting on this washing machine I have to be home to make sure the wash is working or I will ruin more clothes than I™™ve already ruined. I have already ruined a set of sheets and I have frayed towels and comforters, even though they™™re done in a bulky cycle they are getting ruined. Whenever there™™s no more water in the basket, I stopped the cycle it drains and then I switch to drain the whole bucket. I™™ve wasted more soap and more water than I can even understand because I have to unplug the washer. Let it sit overnight and plug it in again, so it is restarted and it may work. I have to run a whole new cycle again.. This is ridiculous. I am grateful I have an extended warranty, but I™™ve had this issue for more than a year probably three years now I have to wait for decent sale to get a new washing machine. I™™ve had to go to the laundromat, I™™ve had to go to friends houses to use their washer because it™™ll stop at the most inopportune time while washing something I need immediately. Do not buy this washer.

The washer has around 3 to 4 years of service. It™™s definitely not worth the money. The agitator brakes off from the bolt that holds it on and it™™s rusty. Purchased new in 2022. It is hard to even out the load no matter what size you wash. Save yourself some money, time and headache. Warranties run concurrent. Please do your research.

This was has been the worst washer I have ever had. I had to have the belt and clutch repaired just after a year and a half. Now the transmission went. The washer was bought in February of 2023. It died today and I had to buy another one. Not worth repairing again. I will NEVER PURCHASE another GE Product. The dryer didn™™t work either right after it was delivered. They had to replace the entire guts of the dryer. That was purchased in April of 2025. Not reliable products.

We bought this washer (GTW465ASN9WW) 2 years ago and the agitator bolt (part # WH43X34257)sheared off inside the housing was not stainless steel! We bought the type with a stainless steel basin for a reason and for the most important component of the agitator to not be stainless is what I believe they call planned obsolescence and it is disgusting. To replace the housing is half the cost of the entire machine not to mention labor if I had to have someone come out! When I initially thought it was the agitator bolt needing to just be replaced everything I looked up came with a "its a common problem" tag with it, so I hope you have since replaced that with a stainless steel one. I will never know since I will not buy GE again.

Once the clothes absorb water the tub is dry. Agitates less than hand washing would. Put clothes on 30 minute soak and water drained during the soak time. Machine is garbage!

Compromise and work around are the only ways to make this junk heap work. GE should be ashamed of themselves passing this garbage off on paying customers. This machine does wash in enough water no matter what setting or cycles you use or how few clothes you put in, because it's all computerized. So the capacity is a null point. Whoever programmed this machine needs to be fired. Do not get fooled by the deep fill option or water level options. My partner has a HE Whirlpool and it preforms 100 percent better than this one because it USES WATER! Even the manual confirms that the clothes will not be submerged when washing. Crazy, right? My previous machine was a older GE so I thought going with GE would be a good decision. Boy, was I WRONG! This has been the absolute worst home appliance purchase I have ever made. Don't purchase this machine or take it if offered for free.

Good size basket capacity, more options for wash load cycles than I understand how to use. Would be perfection from my perspective, except that the center agitator will not stay connected to the basket. It comes loose and turns the balance of the load into a guessing game. It's easy to get it back in place, but I never know what will dislodge it again. It's so quiet that sometimes I have to check to see if it's still running. The only time I notice any noise is the spin cycle. Like I said, it would be perfect if the agitator would stay in place. *shrug*

Disappointed with washer in how long it lasted. I was told GE was a great product, should have went with a different brand. Cycle just times out leaving clothes soaking in water, tried to drain it using drain and spin, no response from machine. Used guide to troubleshoot, I was able to get it to drain, and seemed to work after that. I was wrong, worked 1very small load of laundry to test, out and same dang problem again and now it won't do anything, just show off its pretty little lights. Watch videos on common issues and tried their fixes along with manual. Out of warranty and out of luck. Guess ill be looking into brands like LG and Samsung.

I've had my washer for over 5 years, and I love it! The extra capacity basket is great, you can wash large blankets and comforters that just couldn't fit in my old washer. There are many cycles to choose from, to clean your dirtiest work clothes to your more delicate linens. I also like that you can open the lid while it's still filling, in case you forgot something, or you can leave it open while filling. Its spin cycle is powerful, leaving your clothes almost dry so the dryer doesn't have to work so hard. Since our laundry is done in a space separate from the rest of the house, I can't really comment on the noise level as we can barely tell it's on till we are in the room with it.

The basket on this model is great! It definitely has plenty of capacity! I am loving it. I can only wash clothes on the ™bulky items™ setting for some reason. If I switch it to normal it does not fill or even go through the wash cycle. Most likely user error, but I™™ve got tons of clothe to wash therefore I cannot fidget with all the variety of cycles. We are ranchers so our clothes are bulky anyways. The washer has proven to wash and perform great on that cycle. I love that I can open it while it™™s filling, it does have lid lock during the spin cycle. It™™s probably the quietest washer I have ever owned. It™™s cute how it plays a little tune when you start and when it™™s finished. It™™s pleasant compared to the loud buzz on my old washer.

Forget that this washer only lasted a few years. That alone deserves one star. The worst of this washer is that the water levels are terrible. LOW is only enough water for a napkin. MEDIUM is what LOW should be. HIGH and MAX are almost the same level. Washer gets out of balance ALL the time. It moves, shakes, bounces all over the place. Even though there is a 2nd rinse option, it will sometimes give you a second rinse even if you didn™™t select it. Drain & Spin cycle is useless because even if you put it on Extra Spin, it still wants to fill and rinse. This was both my first and last GE washer.

We bought this washer and the matching dryer about 5.5 years ago. The washer was replaced under warranty about a year later. We now have to replace it again. The dryer has also had issues. We™™ve replaced the heating element twice. In add, my parents bought the same washer. It was replaced under warranty twice under warranty and they refused to accept the third one.

Just installed today. Used for 5 loads so far, and so far love it! I get to choose water level without a machine deciding how to do my laundry.

I am moderately satisfied with this product. I am pleased with the "soak" feature, but I am not completely happy with "water level" issues. I could force my old machine to add more water - I loved that! The government has too much control over manufacturers!
